We’re a lean team of dedicated professionals and we’ve come together to start something awesome. Our varied backgrounds have given us skills that are complementary, and we love bouncing ideas off of each other. We’re constantly challenging each other to come up with fresh ideas and to create great things.

We’ve brought our skills from our multi-disciplinary careers but have left the baggage behind. We don’t like wasting time, neither yours nor ours.

We work hard and believe in efficiency and are always experimenting and playing with new ideas so we can become more effective at making our designs and sites more effective.     Katerina Lyadova

    Co-Founder & Creative Director

    An Entrepreneur and Creative Director, Katerina Lyadova has proven her worth to clients such as eBay, Lego, Hasbro, World Vision, Mattel, Disney & more.

    Supported by degrees in Linguistics, Visual & Digital Arts, and Web Design, Kat’s sophisticated understanding of communication and love of design have been the secrets to her success. They have accelerated her through a career in graphic arts where she has worked her way up from Graphic Designer to Art Director. During this span, Kat has crafted advertisements, designed multilingual websites & mobile apps, and directed over 10 interactive web games.

    Through her vast experience, Kat has come to see design as a journey. This taught her the most valuable lesson a designer could learn. Clients don’t always know what they want, and that’s more than ok. Now given the chance, Kat wants to be there for you. She will be a tour guide into your imagination, helping you discover your direction. She will be there every step of the way turning your creativity into tangibility with visually stunning results.

    Kyle L. McGregor

    Co-Founder & Technical Director

    A creative technologist with a focus on mobile-first responsive web design & UX, Kyle is passionate about human computer interaction, ethics and technology. A self-taught coder, his love of crafting and DIY ethic has helped him keep apprised of the latest in responsive web design and front-end technologies. He approaches technology with a philosophical bent, knowing that there’s more to technology than what is on the surface.

    Growing up in rural Northern Ontario, Kyle came to Toronto to study philosophy and cognitive science at York University to explore various topics from existentialism to technology and ethics. His unending curiosity of how things work fits perfectly with his enthusiasm for applying our innate inventiveness to solving complex problems. This has led to an entrepreneurial mindset, helping others by applying his creative approach to problem solving.

    His other interests include sustainable agriculture, sustainable design, music, earth architecture, DYI, and social innovation. He loves being on or near the water, singing/karaoke or playing musical instruments, is an avid cyclist, and aspiring sailor.

    Melissa Hughes

    Copywriter

    Melissa is a dedicated communications professional with 15 years of experience in communications/marketing for academia, non-profits, and corporate clients.

    A graduate of Carleton University’s journalism program, Melissa worked as a daily news reporter before moving into research communications at York University. Most recently, she managed media and public relations for MaRS Discovery District, one of North America’s largest innovation centres, gaining valuable insights into Ontario’s startup and small business ecosystem.

    As a freelance writer, Melissa has published articles in the Globe and Mail, Quartz, and The Huffington Post, and consults frequently for Toronto startup marketing firm Communicable Inc.

    Melissa is also a classically-trained violinist and a member of Orchestra Toronto, recognized as one of Canada’s best volunteer-based orchestras.

    Yulia Kovaleva

    Web Developer

    A web developer and classically-trained pianist, Yulia is a creative with a problem-solving mindset: she’s always on the lookout for ways to make things work faster, better, and more efficiently.

    An expert in both responsive front-end and back-end design and development, Yulia brings seven years of experience helping companies solve business problems with better web design by building beautiful, user-friendly websites for a multitude of platforms. Prominent clients have included EB Games, Kawasaki Motors Canada, and Ontario Pork Producers. Her unique mix of creative and technical talent brings a special sensitivity to her design and development process, making her an integral part of the Oddbee team.

    Originally from Russia, Yulia moved to Canada in 2007 to pursue a career in Multimedia Technologies, graduating from Fanshawe College with a Diploma in Multimedia Design & Production and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Advanced Multimedia. While in school, Yulia continued to play piano in London and surrounding cities and in 2008 she performed Rachmaninoff's Concerto No. 1 with the London Community Orchestra.

    Yulia is also passionate about mentorship -- in particular, helping women further their technical skills. Since 2013, she has been a regular volunteer with the organization Ladies Learning Code, where she teaches learn-to-code classes.
